| Pacific Maritime Terrestrial Ecozone
In few other areas on earth can one experience such a variety in so short a distance -- from undersea kelp forests to alpine tundra, from the lush, flat plains of the Fraser Delta to the massive glaciers punctuating the northern British Columbia coast. As the name implies, the ecozone includes the land bordering Canada's Pacific Coast. Covering more than 195 000 square kilometres, it includes the Coast Mountains, B.C.’s marine islands, plus a small corner of southwestern Yukon.
